![]() Let's say our project will turn out to be $1 million and the cost off the contract with this vendor is another million. So we have two ways of dealing with this, one is we can leave vendor out of our project and calculate the cost of our project first. So they're not going to be hourly for us, they get a contract. And vendor is the supplier that we have selected to build our toy and have it shipped. So let's say marketing people are $100 an hour, product designers are $120 an hour, manufacturing engineers let's say they're $100 an hour also, supplier relation is 80, legal is more expensive, is 200. These numbers I'm just going to make up and enter them. So even though these people might be salaried, it's asking for standard rate because it wants to come up with a direct labor hours associated that your project. Next It will ask you for a standard rate. Everybody else I'm going to leave at 100%. Let's make our second marketing percent only 50% on this project. They work eight hours a day, everyday, working day, and so on. So when it says 100%, it means that this individual is working in your team full time. We can come here and see what it says, it says 100%. So I'm going to call the Marketing 1, then M2, the product designer is P1, P2, manufacturing engineer is going to be ME 1. So later on that I'm analyzing my resource allocation I can know exactly which resource might be overallocated. It automatically creates initials, and you can see marketing is M, and so is manufacturing engineering, and that's going to become confusing. So I can have her email address and so on. So for example, instead of saying Marketing 1, I could have said is Jane Doe from marketing, that is a part of their project. Then you come here, there are other things that are happening here. If you use material, it usually refers to things that you are going to consume, like paint, and concrete, and so on. So it either can be the cost of equipment, the hours directly related to a task, or hours related to labor work. Work is going to relate to everything that is about direct costs. ![]() This is just going to be the only two things that is available in ProjectLibre. Now, when you come here you can see that there are two things that I can select. So I have entered all of the people who are in this team. And I want to enter them as individuals, but I'm going to use the generic name, so Marketing 1 and Marketing 2. So I'm going to enter those as I just said. ![]() So let's say for this project we have two people from marketing department, two people that are product designers, two manufacturing engineers, one person who will work with the supplier, so supplier relations, and one person who is the legal team to draw the contracts, and then we also have our vendor. To do that we're going to click on tab Resource and then Resources, and this is our resource sheet where we can enter our types of resources. I'll go back to the example new toy development project, and we're going to now assign resources. In this video, I'm going to show you how to assign resources to your tasks. ![]()
